Repeatedly during his public ministry, Jesus called upon his disciples to love God and one another (cf. Mt. 22:36-40). As modern disciples of Jesus Christ, we too are called to show our love for God by offering charity, mercy, and justice to our neighbors. That's why we will be working together as a parish to serve others at our Parish Service Day.
The Parish Service Day is open to parishioners (and friends or family) of all ages. There will be opportunities to serve both at Our Lady of Grace and in the local community. We will keep families with young children at the parish and send others out to local organizations who have partnered with us with projects for the morning. You will find out where you are assigned upon arrival and, for those who are working in the community, we ask you to transport yourself to that project. A child play option will be available to children 6 and under. The Parish Service Day will take place rain or shine.
There are a variety of projects that will be available for participants of different abilities. Please dress appropriately for the weather, preparing that you may work inside or outside. We encourage all participants to bring work gloves, a water bottle, and a hat/head covering.
A light breakfast and coffee will be provided in the morning. Everyone will attend 8:30am Mass together. It is expected that you will wear your clothes for working outdoors to Mass that day.
